Phydeaux recognizes the unconditional love and friendship between a dog and their owner. In fact, it’s part of our mission to foster the preexisting connection between the two as well as to establish new relationships for rescue dogs in search of their new family. We do this regularly by helping owners give their pets the happiest, most nutritious lives possible and hosting weekend adoption events for rescue dogs to meet potential owners. This month we’ve donated to the following events in the Triangle that are doing their part to promote the wholesome feeling of love and camaraderie we all want to share with our canine friends.
Smooches for Pooches
Join Pawfect Match Rescue for their annual fundraising event at Open Arts NC this Saturday, February 11th, doors at 7PM. It will feature a silent auction, and all proceeds will go directly to Pawfect Match Rescue. There will be wine, appetizers, chocolates, and a large Big Shrimpy bed for bid courtesy of Phydeaux. You can purchase your $25 tickets for Smooches for Pooches on Pawfect Match Rescue’s website or Facebook page.
Run for the Roses 5K
Run for the Roses is one of the oldest 5K’s in the Triangle, so named because all female participants receive a rose at the end of the race. The run will be held on February 12th and raises money to benefit: Canines for Service, an organization that empowers people with disabilities through the services of specially trained assistance dogs, Wake County SPCA , a local nonprofit rescue, shelter, and clinic, and Team Red, White and Blue NC, an organization whose mission is to “enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.” Phydeaux has donated 140 lb of dog food to the event, which will go to the Wake County SPCA.
Woof You Be Mine?
Cause for Paws of NC is playing matchmaker this Sunday, February 12th at Milk Bar on Glenwood South during their “Woof You Be Mine?” event. There will be a young litter of five puppies at the bar from 3PM-6PM, all available for adoption. A portion of bar sales will go to Cause for Paws and a Phydeaux raffle basket will be given away during the event.
Holiday Monster Drive
UPDATE: Laila Ali’s Monster Drive will be postponed due to ongoing health issues with her family. Donations can be dropped off any time, so this just means more time for people to come by Doggie Village Apex and make their annual contribution to our local rescues! Follow Laila Ali to stay updated on exact dates and times.
Every year Laila Ali, NC’s “Monster” Elf for the national organization “I’m Not a Monster”, organizes a Holiday Monster Drive where the local populace and businesses can drop off toys, food, beds and other pet-related items to benefit our local rescue groups. The usual winter holiday monster drive has been pushed back to Valentine’s Day weekend, February 12th. Anyone can donate to the drive at any time leading up to and on the day of the 12th. This year Phydeaux is donating beds, plush toys, and over one hundred coats to the cause.
Jackie’s 4th Annual Puppapalooza event will be this Sunday, February 12th, from 2PM-5PM at White Tiger Taekwondo and Martial Arts in Cary. Bring your dogs and family out for raffle prizes, family friendly dog shows, and canine good citizen classes. There will a spin the wheel featuring one of Phydeaux’s stainless steel water fountains and lots of Phydeaux gift bags that will be given out during the event.
